Area As one of the leading caravan parks in the Scottish Borders, you can count on Crossburn Caravans to have excellent
facilities, stunning surroundings and easy access to the local area for you to explore.
The regular bus service from just outside the park will take you right to the heart of Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh. Here you can visit Edinburgh Castle, the famous Princes Street gardens, Scottish National Art Gallery and John Knox's house,
or not just for the young; but also the young at heart, the Museum of Childhood. There are a selection of retail parks on the outskirts of Edinburgh for those who love to shop but prefer not to go into the City Centre.
A one day visit will not be enough, but you will also be able to head further into the Scottish Borders where beautiful historic houses and abbeys await. The Borders towns from June to August each celebrate the Riding of the Marches. Here in Peebles we
have The Beltane Festival for a week every June. Well worth a look! In September Peebles holds its own Highland Games. However if you do not wish to go too far, the Glentress Forest may be of interest. Here you can do some leisurely walks
or for the more energetic mountain biking is on offer. Fishing is available on the River Tweed but permits are required and can be purchased locally. Eighteen hole golf course can be found in Peebles and also at Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, just three
miles south on the A703 towards Galashiels. From beginners to experienced horse riding is also available and the local swimming pool will give you a warm welcome.
Apart from two supermarkets in the town, there is also an excellent butcher / baker, a delicatessen and a variety of independent shops. Should you not want to spend all the holiday time at the kitchen sink there are numerous eating establishments.
These range from your basic fish and chips, Italian, Chinese & Indian restaurants, to fine dining with prices to suit all pockets. Most local takeaways will deliver to Crossburn.
